Shanghai

After arriving at Shanghai airport and collecting our baggage, we headed for the Maglev train to take us into the city centre. It took 8 minutes to cover the forty kilometres reaching a top speed of 431 kilometres per hour!!

Next was a taxi ride to the hotel - a hair-raising experience for a couple of groups as the taxis sped through the busy streets. Check in took a long time but finally we got to our rooms, freshened up and headed out to find dinner.

Everyone was very adept with their chopsticks and most of the kids were happy to try what we had ordered.
After dinner we walked down to the Bund so we could see Shanghai by night.
