Shanghai is an exciting city of 16 million inhabitants located at the mouth of China's Yangtze River. Shanghai is China's largest city and is also China's economic powerhouse. Hundreds of Chinese and foreign firms have built huge factories near the city. Shanghai has also become the country's commercial and banking centre.
Our main reason for visiting Shanghai is to visit the World Expo which opened on May 1st 2010 and will close at the end of October. You can find more information about the Expo on the official site. We will spend the whole of our first full day at the World Expo. There are hundreds of pavilions and other attractions there and we will only have time to view a small part but it should be an exciting day.

Our second day in Shanghai will be spent seeing some of the mainsights of the city including TheBund, Nanjing Road (Shopping district), Yuyuan Gardens and possibly the Oriental Pearl TV Tower and the Jade Buddha Temple. You will be able to read more about what we actually see once our journey begins.
